Seat Cover Suggestions...
Front seats in my '94 Cabriolet are not in the best condition unfortunately. Anyone have any suggestions or experiences with the various seat covers out there? There's a ton listed on ebay, just curious if anyone has gone the seat cover route....

Typical. The back is worn where you get in and the seat is looking ragged. Yea, you could drop $700 on ebay but really, taking seat covers off is easy. Also, you are going to be dropping some bucks on mechanical issues in short order, as in timing belt, water pump, & thermostat and that is just for starters. Your vacuum lines are all suspect and the brakes may be on their last few mm of wear, not to mention the front strut mounts and maybe the inserts. Further, all your fluids need changed, as in power steering, brake, and transmission, and you have to check that some idiot did not put Prestone in the radiator. These seats are really nice and they are ALL leather, not just the seating areas. That's why this car was $34K in 1994! Ask an auto upholsterer what he will charge to stitch in new sections if you hand him the covers. All you need is a couple of needle nose pliers to open the hog rings and then buy a hog ring plier (cheap and a necessity!) to use to close the hog rings when reinstalling the covers. Taking the seats out is easy.

Thanks a bunch for the info. The previous owner of this car replaced the motor with one that was gone through, so at least I'm a step ahead of the game. So many other things that you listed and some that you didn't. Gonna keep this 'ol boy busy for some time I'm afraid. I won't be dropping $700 on ebay, heck, I didn't pay near that for the car!!
