Oil coming out the oil filler cap?
I have a 1990 5 cylinder 20 valve and today while driving I noticed a brief plume of smoke behind me. While pulling off the road, I scanned the guages and all were in normal positions. When I got stopped, I let it cool before opening the hood for a look. Oil was dripping down the right side of the engine onto the exhaust manifold and it appeared to be from the filler cap. I removed it, looked at the seal and then put it back on without noting if it was completely tight.
Then I started the engine and waited. Nothing. Just thought I'd post in case this engine is known for having high crankcase pressures and having issues like this with old caps? Anyone heard of this happening before? The crank case breather appears normal and intact and this has not happened before in a few hundred miles of driving this car which is new to me.

i'll check both the valve cover gasket (I put a new one one as part of the timing belt service last month) and see if I can find a new seal for the cap. It was definitely coming out of the cap but with so much coming out it was hard to say if the vc seal was the issue as well - I don't think so. Checking the breather is as normal - seeing if I can easily blow air through it?
