Sure its not dribble from when oil was poured in? Could just need a new cap. Mine doesn't.

very sure. did oil change a long time ago.

Make sure the crankcase ventilation is working

Otherwise pressure might build up and push some oil out of the filler cap.

yes, every VW based product I've owned does it after a few years

I keep an extra oil cap around for the eventuallity. They cost like $6 bucks but I've seen some people post that you can just replace the gasket for a buck or so. There's a lot of splashing up there under high RPM.
