New to me Audi, smallish issues
I just got a 1988 90 Quattro today and it has an issue that I have never really dealt with. When I start it, it gets to idle (about 800rpm) and in about 2 sec fades to dead. and it also stalls every now and then when i let off the gas and put it in neutral to slow down, but not very often.
Any ideas on what it could be?
are both issues caused by a similar issue?

Probably a vacuum leak there is long hose running from the
ISV(idle stabilizer valve)under the intake manifold it connects to a plastic elbow T at the back of the manifold. It is common for this elbow to crack also the hoses get mushy with age and can leak too.
