Can I put Run Flat tires on my 2013 TT-RS. My dealer says no but can't tell me why.
Audi did not offer run flats as an option on the TTRS. You can put run flats on any car but handling and ride usually is degraded somewhat. If your concern is a potential flat, put a compact spare or almost compact spare in your trunk for long drives. I have one in my trunk all the time. The compact spare of the A4 fits the rear tire of the TTRS. It may also fit the front but no one has tried it yet (the problem may be clearing the larger TTRS front brake). So worst case is you move a good rear tire to the front and mount the compact spare on the rear. I use and almost full size which uses a cheap 16" rim and a narrow higher profile tire (205/60 I think) which is much cheaper and does not have the distance or speed restrictions of a compact spare.
The problem with run flats is that they are only good for about 50 miles at reduced speed. Unfortunately, in the West where I am you are often more than 50 miles from a service station or tire dealer who can handle run flats (they require a special changer), assuming they have your size which they usually don't.
