a6 c4 s6 automatik only starts in N position
Hi,
Wonder if you guys might have some insight as to what may be the problem as to why the engine usually only start when N is selected. This is not always the case but nearly. The automatic works ok otherwise
Is there a "gearselector" sensor somewhere attached to the gearbox? Haven been able to find it to perhaps clean the contacts. Nor have I found it in any etka I have broused through.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Might be a fuse..or connector

See page 4..could be the multifuction switch..it lives on the side of the transmission..The multifunction switch connector has a reputation for getting wet/greasy and the connector to the switch may need cleaning. The switch itself it tough to replace.
Check your fuses first.
