Ignition Switch on '97 A6
How many have had to replace their ignition switch? I looked on the web, and I found recall on A4 switches. Why not A6 switches? I have also seen many posts on various messageboards where A6 owners have had this problem. I guess I would be less upset if I hadn't just shelled out $230 on brake pads, and this $200 on ignition for my month old A6 with 34,00 miles. Oh well nobody said it was going to be cheap to ride with class.

I just had mine replaced yesterday... There WAS a recall on the 100 models...
Fortunately mine was covered under warranty... something in the $200 range for parts and labor. Much easier to turn now! =)

Is this the stiff switch syndrome ?
Does it affect any electrical functionality, I have looked at an A6 that would not operate the starter motor at all. Battery was totally flat and it would not jump start.

Muhammad,
I thought you were selling the 100???
Do you know the recall code for the ignition switch? I am going to need to get mine changed.
