Default Coolant leak 93csq

It is trickling down the transmission pan driver side rear corner and another trickle at about the center pan driver side. Evidently a common source is merely taking two forks in the road.

This occurs about 5 minutes after warm engine shutdown, not when it is running.

No coolant odor is detected from the cabin vents nor is there visible evidence of leakage in the cabin. The HVAC bay is completely dry as well. I don't think it is the heater core.

Where to look? After things cool off I'll attempt to remove the plastic plenum (that "V6" thing that connects to the throttle body) and try to see down there, but access looks pretty tight.

Any tips and suggestions from those who may have been down this road would be quite appreciated.

Regards...

Mike

Update: I changed my mind... now I think a leaking heater core is possible. I found no leaks in the area of the backside of the engine. Besides, the drips are farther back than that. I hesitate to rip the core out unless I know for sure that is the problem... I'm just not seeing enough evidence of it.

Could be the heater core where the hoses connect under the drain tray..the plastic ends break at the hose clamps. Take a look and see.

I've looked at that... it looks it could have weeped a little in the past but it wasn't dripping. Besides, if it leaked there, then it should run out the HVAC bay drain towards the passenger side. It's completely dry there.

I'm going ahead with replacing the core (and blower while I'm in there). It's not as difficult a job as I had imagined... just a bit time consuming.

Thanks... Mike

Aha! It is the heater valve that is leaking... where the white part and the black part come together, visible here in the inspection mirror. Then it trickles down to where a plastic clip is attached to the underside of the heater box bay and out onto the tranny.
