How much do you pay for an oil change?

I do my own oil change. My last oil change parts cost for oil filter and synthetic oil ran around 70-ish. Not sure if your $170 is labor only but hope that helps put things in perspective.

If they give it to you for free it just means they still had enough margin in the deal to cover it. They gave you Audicare instead of a further cash discount. The dealer has to pay for Audicare somehow out of the margin they make on your sale. Free is not real, it's simply a marketing concept.

I have Audi Care on my A6 but when my dealer runs periodic special offers, I pay $100 (regularly $130) for an oil change for my wife's '02 2.7t 6-cyl allroad. Indy's in my area charge around $100. $170 seems pretty steep.
