Consistency was always a German virtue, ugh.
Got to thank that little bird in the back of my head that always questioned clean diesel, clean coal, clean toilet, usw.

Has this claim been substantiated or is it just an accusation at this point? If it's true it shows a pattern that will really create problems for them.

It is according to the EPA letter. (Read the letter in post #13 in the linked thread). Audi has denied tampering with the software on the 3.0 but the test results appear to reveal otherwise.

Apparently the EPA is also continuing to test more models and so the MY2016 A6/A7 3.0 diesel may not be the only years affected before this is over.

I would guess VAG already has created plenty of problems for itself.

VAG my not be the only manufacturer that is playing fast and loose with the EPA. I would guess that they all do it in some way and everyone is going to be closely checked.

I believe they did check a few other brands and models but so far all met the emissions spec. I seem to recall some BMW's were one of the brands checked.

Default Wouldn't be a bit surprised if...

next up are the gasoline engines. Do any of us actually believe that a nearly 4400 lb car can do a 5.4 to 60, with a 315hp rated engine?

More to the point, do I care? All manufacturers of just about any product "fudge" on something.

SnagIt. what do you think?

The numbers are not that surprising. AWD helps any 0-x time, the supercharger gives it nearly intant torque, and it's trap speeds are not much out of line with other similar cars. Germans understand a lot about minimizing drivetrain losses and optimizing gearing.

I don't think the specs are out of line. The 3.0/3.2 TFSI engines have been around for some time. I'm not convinced VAG has played around with them.

Actually, Quattro or any other awd system usually hurts 0-60 times due to the weight of the extra components.
