2016 A7 TDI cheating emissions???

I just saw this article and the 2016 A7 is on the list:

If VW does something like this, I wonder what other interesting software tricks they have programmed.

Well, after reading some comments on the A6 side of the forum about the gas mileage readout being very optimistic I have checked my last two tanks. Showing in the 26 range I calculated almost exactly three mpg less two tankfuls in a row. That is a variance of we'll over 10%. I have found most of these trip computers fairly close in many cars over the years.

I will check it for a while, but this amazes me. Getting 23 when it shows 26 seems very deceiving to me. With today's electronics it can be measured much closer.

I have a 2014 A6 3.0 TDI and my 16k mile average miles per gallon is 40 according to the computer and 38.92 hand calculated.

Adblue put in 4 times since I bought it and it regens every 750 - 1000 miles or so.

If the car wasn't going into regen, burning and smelling like crap, then why would I have to put def in it? If there is some software then were is the def going? Has to be burned off somewhere.

My A7 is the gas motor.
