New buyer - exhaust question
Good morning everyone -- I just purchased a 2005 TT as a daily driver. Was looking for something comfortable, stylish and with a little pep. Bought a 1 owner who meticulously kept it up, had service done regularly, with less than 100k and had the timing belt and water pump done at 75k. All good!! I test drove it twice before buying, but don't recall 2 things and want to see if that is normal (point of reference is that I test drove BMW Z4 and Porsche Boxster before buying this). 1) it does not have a quiet idle (not rough, just not quiet) and 2) exhaust seems loud. Perhaps these are traits of a roadster - any weigh in would be appreciated!!!

Go underneath and verify that the flex pipes are not leaking. They tend to start to disintegrate after ten years. You also need to let us know which engine you have. Regardless, The exhaust is tuned to be sporty and louder than a sedan with a similar engine.
