February 2017 - Parrot MKi9200 into 2001 Audi TT
Well here it is 2107 and I want to add hands free calling and music streaming to my 'new to me' Audi TT Quattro convertible with a Bose Concert radio.
Has anyone done this and still have the photos/instructions on which kits/wires that need to be connected?
Thanks for any help you can provide!
Russ
. I gave up on the OEM radio and put in a $100 Kenwood single DIN head unit. Easy to do, gives you music streaming, bluetooth phone and other modern conveniences. Like all the single DIN units, the controls kinda suck, but it's OK once you get used to it. The installation was easy and you just use the existing Bose amp. You do need a ground loop isolator to avoid a popping noise when turn the system on. They are readily available.
I have a 2015 Accord EXL V6... I HATE the radio controls.
I have a year old top of the line Sony with all the fancy doo dads... I HATE it.
I'm going to try to go back to the simpler controls of this lovely car and just enjoy it.
Except I need the ability to occasionally use the phone while driving.
Thanks for the heads up on the ground loop isolator!
If necessary I can put the Sony into this car... just don't want to. LOL

I also wanted to keep the OEM radio, but it didn't sound great and the CD player didn't work well. Personally, I would just use the Sony. If the radio display can color match the red Audi displays, it won't look bad. It certainly won't look as tacked on as the Parrot.
The sound out of my Bose Concert is quite acceptable. Good even. The radio is not as good at tracking and keeping a station as newer ones. Missing digital I suppose.
What I want from the Parrot is hands free and the ability to stream from my Android. I'm willing to go with the flow and dis-connect the CD changer. Who has CD's these days? LOL.
I think everyone is pretty much saying the same thing: just install a new head unit. I'm going to try the Parrot first though.
If anyone has wiring diagrams or insight into a plug and play cable arrangement I'd love to hear it!
THANKS!!!
Russ
Ordered a wiring adapter - that made job much easier.... handsfree calling in my 2003 Audi TT sounds better than my 2011 Land Rover now...
