What causes the rear window to separate from cloth?

and age and repeated flexing. It's just glue... needs re-doing occasionally.

Even if it is brushless. Look at how the rear window vibrates and the downforce it must withstand while it is passing through those downward-facing huge blowers to blow away water.

Another issue is operating the top in cold weather. If you are one of those guys who likes to put the top down in 35 degree weather and look cool driving, may as well leave it down until the weather warms up. The The effect of the pulling force on the top and the window where it meets the top cloth is severe. If the fabric and glue are cold something eventually has to give.
