Default What drive modes do you typically drive in?

I just got my RS3 and was wondering what and when you drive in certain drive modes. When it's just me in the car, I've been doing manual mode in dynamic sport. When others are in the car, I'll keep it in automatic and do comfort sport.

But I was wondering what everyone else does and if there are better options!

I'm in auto most of the time - but kick it to dynamic every morning on the curvy portion of my commute.

Individual:

Engine/trans = Auto
Suspension = Auto
Steering = Dynamic
Quattro = Dynamic
Exhaust = Dynamic

I've actually been driving with exhaust in comfort quiet a bit lately, to better hear the 5 cylinder sound. Exhaust in dynamic is fun, but the louder bass tones drown out a lot of the nice 5 cylinder sounds from inside the car.

Spend most time with shifter in Manual (from D).
D tries too hard to save fuel so I drive it like a manual and shift myself. (although my OCD hates the *** backward shifter, so pretty much only use flappy paddles)

Haven't had a chance to drive much with shifter in S mode yet. Just passed 1000 miles this weekend, and have only done daily driving miles so far. Sitting in crawling traffic with transmission in S mode is actually kind of annoying. The higher idle and vibrations and the way it holds the gear is great if you're pushing the car hard, but in daily driving mode I like the transmission in D mode with manual shifting.

I drive different Audis at various times. Here in the San Francisco Bay Area we have Audi on Demand, so if I feel like driving something other than my own RS5, I can take out anything from an A3 all the way to an R8. In conjunction with the loaners from my dealership, I've driven many different Audis over the last years. If you are looking for some general guidelines, then the way Audi positions the various drive modes is like this. Comfort for longer distance highway driving, Auto for every day driving and Dynamic for sporty driving. That's generally how I use the modes, however, in my RS5 I don't use Auto mode very much and instead like @Morbo66 use Individual mode instead. Reason in my case is because I want the sport differential in its most aggressive setting most of the time, but everything else I keep in Auto. I'm coming from RWD cars, and the sport differential allows me to play with the rear end of the car. I'm taking out the TT RS in a few weeks and I will set it up in a similar manner. The TT RS (as well as the RS3) doesn't have the sport differential, but instead allows adjusting the Haldex system to involve the rear axle more often, so the point of using Individual will be to keep the Quattro system in Dynamic most of the time. I will take it on one of my 200+ miles canyon runs.

When on normal roads, I'll drive in Individual where everything is Dynamic except for transmission (Auto) and Suspension (Comfort).

I am always individual with everything dynamic except suspension and steering which are on comfort. Then depending on mood I use drive or sport.

Individual:

Engine/trans = Auto
Suspension = Auto
Steering = Dynamic
Quattro = Dynamic
Exhaust = Dynamic

Also, I have the exhaust flaps open all the time via VCDS with a resonator pipe.

Thanks everyone! Sounds like this is what I'm going to start trying:
Engine/trans = Auto
Suspension = Auto
Steering = Dynamic
Quattro = Dynamic
Exhaust = Dynamic

What exactly does each mode do to the engine/trans? Just adjust the shifts/revs/throttle response?

t. I had a quick question about the Quattro setting in the Individual settings mode. What are the options for this? I know its auto, comfort or dynamic but what exactly is this setting for?
