Whining/howling tiptronic...sounds like an unhappy wife!

I replaced the transmission filter using the Blauparts kit ('01 A6 2.7T Quattro Tip). Took about 5 1/2 liters of fluid. Filled it using VCDS for tranny temp. Fine for a few weeks and now it started whining in every gear. I can't see any evidence of leaks, but I ordered more Ravenol fluid and when it gets here I'll recheck the level. If the level is OK, are there any other "suspects" I can check? 150K miles and still runs great except for some "hesitation" when low throttle in 4/5 gears. Only happens when the car is warm. Cold and there's no slip at all. I've read many posts about the "slipping" but never read about a solution that works. Stops "slipping" as soon as the torque converter clutch locks. No codes. I'll let you know what happens. Seems to be a common problem.

Much better....

Rechecked the fluid level and it was actually overfilled. With the engine cold and at idle, I pulled the fill plug and fluid dripped out. So I let it warm to 40C and it continued to drip slowly 'till up to that temp. Probably drained at least half a liter. Shifted to R and D a few times while waiting. Replaced the plug and took it for a spin. No more noise and the "slipping" is almost gone. I think I overfilled it before, thinking the slip was due to low fluid, but obviously not. Surprising that a high level would cause those symptoms. I guess when they say level is critical, they mean it. New one on me.
