'98 a6 2.8 a/c compressor bracket

'98 a6 2.8 a/c compressor bracket
Hi All.
I posted this on another forum that seems to be less helpful than it used to be....
My a/c compressor bracket broke and is rattling like mad.
I have purchased a new one and am wondering what to expect when replacing it.
Do I have to remove the compressor, or can I slip the bracket out and back in?
Can I get to it easily by jacking up the front driver side and removing the wheel well covering?
Any tips are greatly appreciated!
