A6 1.8t to 2.7t engine swap
Hey.
I own a A6 1.8t Quattro.
Enyone in here who has experience With changing the engine in this car from 1.8t to 2.7t?
I consider to buy a A6 With a 2.7t, so then i`ll have engine, gear, harnees, exhaust etc, but are there other Things to consider?
Also, if anyone have done this job; how about PATS? Can i get my keys coded to the New drivetrandmodule at a VAG dealer With no more problems?

Why not just buy a nice 2.7t and sell your 1.8t? If you do try the engine swap, I think that if you recode your instrument cluster to the new engine, your keys will be fine.
Will you change the transmission too? The more I think about the whole idea, the less I like it.

I live in Norway, here there not so many 2.7t cars, and those that are is very expensive. Therefore i am considering to get one from my neigbour country. There i can get one cheap. That way i get a cheap donor car, and dont get to worry much about taxes, as i can pick engine, gearbox and other parts i may need, and then get rid of the donor car. Agree with johnkk. There are three large issues. You need to deal with the mechanical meaning pairing to drive system, making it fit the frame etc. There is the wiring harness, significant differences. There are the computers, sensors, and such. And if you work all these out then every time you have a no start or other issue is it because of your swap or something else.
