Audi A8 FS in NC: 2009 A8L 4.2 149k miles
Posting my A8L up here because I came across a lovely S8 and I've always wanted to own one, so this one's now redundant. It's an '09 edition with the cold weather package + B&O stereo. New tires w/ <10k miles on them, and I have maintenance records from my year+ of ownership (was bought from a dealer in Houston with about 115k on it.) It passed a pre-purchase inspection at an indie dealer, but I don't have any records prior to my taking ownership. Over that time I've had coils/plugs done, a carbon cleaning of the engine, and a number of other little things that need to be tended to on a car this age. Interior is in good shape, a little worn with age but nothing too severe.
It's stock except for the suspension: I hate Audi's adjustable suspensions' tendency to fail at high mileage (and this one was starting to go, with a slow leak in 2 of the 4) so I had it replaced with a Strustmasters fixed kit. I kept the old suspension components as well as the relay if the new owner would like them, but I highly recommend keeping the fixed height as it rides great and won't die and put you out thousands. This does result in a dash light indicating an error in the adjustable suspension, the suspension manufacturer suggests just covering that with electrical tape.
Additionally, the adjustable headlights aren't adjusting anymore, leading to another dash light. Otherwise, everything electrical is in good working order. What else...the front passenger window is noisy when it's being lowered.
Right now it's driving very nicely, with two caveats that are reflected in price: the front suspension is very squeaky from the cabin as a result of old control arms, my mechanic quoted me $1100 on those, but they aren't dead yet so I'm still driving on them. As well, there's a cylinder misfire on #2 that's the result of a bad injector, another $400 repair. This *only* manifests at high RPMs, taking it above about 3500 will result in a flashing CEL (though oddly the performance at high RPM is fine, the on-board registers the misfire but it doesn't seem to impact ability to accelerate.) Either way, I drive like an old man and never punch it, so it hasn't been on the top of my list.
Taking those two things into account, I'm taking the KBB price minus the cost of those repairs at a good mechanic and pricing at $6250. Please text 954-558-7567 if you're interested, I live about midway between the Greensboro and Raleigh-Durham airports.
