Mechanic's SPECIAL 2013 Audi A5 2.0T Quattro cabriolet Premium Plus

2013 Audi A5 with 118,000 miles. Interior is in good shape with minor wear and tear on the driver leather seat. Exterior is also in good shape with minor paint chips from road debris.

This car isn’t only stunning but was fun to drive. The routine maintenance and recalls on the Audi were kept up but the timing tensioner failed which caused the timing chain to break leading to engine failure. Apparently, the timing tensioner for 2013 was a known defect but was not a recall which led to a lawsuit.

The Audi dealership quoted $3700 for the following parts to fix the issues.

Parts: timing chain, tensioner, 3 guides, coolant, lower timing cover and bolts, cylinder head, gaskets, head bolts, sealant for cradle, gasket for vacuum pump, exhaust gasket, upper timing cover gasket
