Default ... falling out of nowhere bunch of not connected cables ....

... what can be the worst than falling out of nowhere bunch of not connected cables ....
I'm in the process of retrofitting "hands free" function, was pulling cable from amplifier to microphone . Yes, I removed roof lining ... obviously, after I removed the liner those cable fell out and I didn't notice I have extra cables hanging .... I installed the liner and SURPRISE (photo attached)
Dear colleagues, please, what are these for:
.-) antenna cable I suspect from missing traffic control antenna (small black box on the top of front window) ... it tells me that on my Q7 front window was replaced and traffic antenna's gone ... am I correct?
-) in my hand cables for dome light roof control and new microphone cable .... what are the other?

thank you for you help

First rule of disassembly is take lots of pictures. Everything to the back gate (reverse camera), or multiple antenna feeds...rooftop and side-rear window (in glass), etc., goes through the roof trim to rear of the car.

This car is also equipped with multiple non-terminated connection leads/ ends ; this is to support options packages and additional features, such as a trailer brakes controller. It's prewired for that functionality, as well as the tow lights controller/trailer harness, if you need to add those. That said, you should not just have 'wires to nowhere' dropping out of the headliner, which means at some prior point, the glass was likely replaced with aftermarket and the wires/harness leading to the windshield mounted sensors (rain sensor/wipers, etc., based on car's feature-set) never got hooked back up, and wires stuffed into the liner void. Where the heck did you buy this car from that you got so many issues with it; is it a salvage title, unloved, a 'barn find', or what's the deal?

You should see trouble codes when scanning the car, related to whatever is disconnected, unless someone went into the 'green menu' and turned off/disabled features that the car originally was equipped with.

please don't "stab" my heart asking where i found it ... I weep every time I think about this car - very much unloved (I have never had cars like this in my life) ... the man I got it from tricked me completely, didn't disclosed anything ...because of covid we had movement restrictions and I only communicate with him (he is IT person of 50sh) ... bought with no test drive... not all educated and sound intelligent people are honest ...God is witness
... anyway ... as an engineer, I'm challenged to do my best to get it back to specs .

in regards photos and vcds check ... yes, photos taken after liner was removed (attached) and scan done many times prior:

... this fault I noticed already on the first scan after bought it: ... absents of black traffic antenna on the glass raised my suspicion the glass was replaced.

what do you think to rectify this problem ? thank you

... in regards of "pre-wired" ... yes, some car but not all ...when I bought A8 5 years ago, I found "hands free" microphone is not installed but wire was in place ... all I needed to install microphone and vcds did job. This one is different.

I'm open to any help ... thank you

So the car has a sharkfin antenna on top for the Sirius XM radio, yes, and the Sirius XM company also wants to sell you their extra-goodness in a dollup of 'traffic data' service, so you can hit that "INFO" button on MMI and it displays useful traffic congestion issues, yes...YES. Those are both provided by Sirius XM...roof antenna. There is a side window antenna in left-rear of the car, which I believe is the AM band radio, but not sure on that one. I think the sharkfin on top houses the FM receiver also, but again, unsure, as haven't had to mess with any of that kit as yet. If those items all work cleanly, then they are not disconnected. If they were already disconnected prior, then you've got to match them up to the harness from car/dash area, which should fee up the A-pillar to the roofline.

I can't tell from your pics if you have the OE sensor housing that mounts against the windshield or not, but it houses the rain sensor and possibly others, depending on how your car is equipped. Audi is generally pretty good about matching up the colors/types of connectors so it makes sense how they go together, so look for the similar connectors (male/female). It's less important you understand their exact function rather than you getting the matched pairs back together again so you can rescan the car, etc.

You can easily label the connections you know already. Then you do process of elimination with other connectors for visor vanity mirrors, the missing windshield sensor/rain sensor, etc. Look for the color/shape coded connectors to verify what matches up. It's less important to know exactly what they lead to, and much more important just to get them connected in their matched-pair sets, which should be fairly obvious given the difference in connectors and wire/cable/bunched wires setup will need to match. The leads coming up from the dash via the A-pillar route have got to connect into the leads running back to the rear of the car for ceiling/interior lighting, Sirius radio, AM/FM band radio antennas, rear-view camera, etc. Be patient and look for the exact-fit matchups.
