Default Just changed spark plugs and coil packs 3.6L

The old plugs were black and there was corrosion on the 5/16" bolts. I assume these were the original plugs. The vehicle only had 110k when I purchased it. The very last plug (closest to the windshield) had some liquid above the crush washer. Possibly from a previous pressure washing, idk. I really couldn't get down in there to try and dry what was wet, so I just tightened the new plug and called it a day.

Afterward, the engine is a little quieter and the acceleration is better. There is a little firmer feel to the gas pedal. Maybe I'm imagining it?

Should I worry about the liquid I found? I definitely won't be pressure washing the engine myself, without sealing off the spark plug area first.

Generally the plugs/coil packs are due at 100k miles, so they should be pretty worn and gaps off when you changed them, which could account for very dark insulators. Hopefully the insulators weren't oily/had signs of oil on them or threads, etc. The car should run better with new plugs/coil packs, but the pedal will just seem more responsive to you as you helped it run more efficiently via worn ignition parts replacement. The go-pedal itself is fly-by-wire, sensor driven type, so you're just noticing the car has better zoom-zoom now, and needs less pedal demand to make it go. If you did the throttle pedal sensor calibration/reset, that will also be a notable difference in how it 'feels' to you.

Didn't know about the reset. I assume the hex-v2 can do this. I will research the process.

No scan tool required; it's just doing steps in car in a specific order, etc. I don't want to misquote the procedure...not holding out on ya, but it's a fairly basic sequence. The net result on our TDI's is throttle pedal feels more sensitive to a light touch and initial engagement; gets rid of any dead pedal-travel you may be experiencing before it kicks in.

Found the procedure on a Touareg forum. Wow, what a difference. No more throttle lag!
