Climatronic settings not showing up on mmi screen

Climatronic settings not showing up on mmi screen
Hey, long story short, i had to change the mmi control unit with FBAS, because i wanted to install RVC. After changing control unit, the climatronic(hvac) settings do not appear on main screen. Pressing "SETUP' does nothing, it lights up for a split second and that's it.
I've tried using vcds to disable and then enable back the hvac setting, still no cigar.. I've taken the car to electrician, told me he's tried everything but couldn't do anything and assumed that the control unit might've been from an audi with non-electrical clima. Called the seller and he reassured me, that it had the Electronic climatronic..
I've been living like that for a few months and it really bothers me not beign able to sync the sides or see it on the big screen.
I know there are A LOT of posts regarding this problem, i've surfed most of them, but couldn't seem to find a solid solution.. maybe someone has had occured this problem and managed to solve it successfuly? Or just some ideas what i could also try..

I'm presuming you had component Protection removed from the MMI unit? - and your HVAC controller is the one with the digital readout on it?
I had my MMI changed for the same reason you have (RVC) - and I changed my HVAC control to the digital unit....again this had CP on it.
