Hi forum,

I just scanned the codes and found a lot of faults in the system. I see many short to ground codes. In some instances the battery dies if not driving the car for a few days. I installed a battery manual kill switch to disconnect it when not driving a few days.

I noticed it runs rich and the mpg dropped from 450 miles per tank to about 300 miles per tank. I have this 000262 - Manifold / Barometric Pressure Sensor (G71) / (F96) code for over 1-1.5 years. I fixed a few leaks almost 3 years ago and some are coming back. I also can hear a knocking sound on the drivers side ( ).

I can DIY pretty complex jobs with the tools i have. I've done timing on my honda (easier than audi), fixed the timing cover oil leaks on audi. replaced many gaskets and o-rings, replaced brakes and shocks.

The few tens of thousands $ question: should I put 1-2k to try to fix some of these issues or let go and buy another one?

Rather than use a battery disconnect switch, I suggest replacing your battery, and then clear the DTCs.

 

There is a short somewhere which drains the battery. the one I have it's quite new. It seems many circuits are affected by this ground if you look at other faults.
