AU: Should it be running when check trans fluid level?

– Start engine with selector lever in position “P”.
– With brake pedal still depressed, select all gear positions (“P”, “R”, “N”, “D”, “S” or “D/S”) one after the other at idling speed, maintaining each position for at least 2 seconds.
– Shift selector lever into position “N”.
– Shift selector lever into position “P”.
– Allow engine to continue running at idling speed.
– When ATF reaches temperature of 30 ℃, unscrew ATF inspection plug.
• The ATF level is correct if a small amount of fluid comes out at the ATF inspection plug when the ATF temperature is between 30 °C and 50 °C. If this is not the case, top up ATF.
The ATF inspection plug must be screwed in again before the ATF reaches a temperature of 50 °C.

I have watched a few YT, some of them checked when it's running, some not.
I also read somewhere in service manual, check the level after engine stops at least 15 minuses.
that's why I am confused.
read it again, it should be running when check out the level
