Need advice-2016 Q5 2.0L T w/53k miles/85k km’s - low oil- add 1 quart warning light
reaching out from Canada for some advice with my 2016 q5 that has 53 000 miles/85 000km’s.
Yesterday the low oil -add 1 quart -may continue driving (yellow) warning came up.
After getting to our destination- shut the vehicle off, visited the family and when we left our visit +/- 3hrs later, after popping the hood to inspect for any leaks I opened the oil fill cap looked inside and closed it back up, closed the hood and made our way home (10 mile drive back home)
the warning light never came back on but when we arrived home, I checked the MMI provided oil level and it literally does not show any oil- nothing registered on the image/fill level.
I had an oil & filter change done very recently @ 82 790km /51 700 miles from an Audi dealership.
I’m puzzled - truth be told me last I owned a VW vehicle was a’98 mk3 Vr6.
and for a short stint in 2013 a Wolfsburg golf - fair to say that after buying this q5 from the original owner at 77 000km/ 48 000miles I’m back in the German/vw/audi world but never experienced oil consumption like this.
do you think it could be a bad oil level sensor?
that there is actually no oil left after less than 3000km after getting an OC completed ?
I’ve ordered a dip stick from Amazon.
thank you in advance
I have an extended warranty through the dealer that I purchased the vehicle through (non Audi dealership)
…they are now advising me to book an appt at my closest or preferred Audi dealer to have a diagnosis done.
I’m assuming that they will need to have an oil consumption test conducted.
Geez for a nice driving mid size SUV I wish I had known about this oil consumption issue before hand. German engineering at its worst, I’m very surprised by this.
