Embossed Aluminum Heat Sheild
I am not a professional. Looking back this is one of those parts if removed, would made a few jobs described in this forum a lot easier.
Man, when I took the fender liner and this heat shield off that pesky corner bolt of that valve cover was easily removed without specialty tools.
The Generic term for these are "Embossed Aluminum Heat Shield".
They are held up by course Stamped nuts that are ease to remove.
The bolts that these nuts attach to are welded to the car chassis. Just be careful as you pull out the heat shield. This part feels like extra heavy duty aluminum foil. It easily snags as you are pulling it out.
After pulling this part away from the Chassis, you can insert a still plastic liner to minimize the snagging from the protruding bolts.
(I used the plastic liner that comes with those Sams club Shelving)
