Sudden oil consumption Q5 2016
I have a Q5 2016, with 108,000km. I've never had to add a drop of oil between maintenances.
this summer, the oil light came on, so I added 1L of oil. after 1500km - 2000km, I had to add 1L which is also starting to disappear. I had the car inspected by audi and an independent garage, and no oil leaks from the engine.
So, I did my own investigations and noticed a little oil in the pipe that goes to the intake manifold (see the first 3 photos).
I also looked at the pipe that connects the air filter and the turbo (there is also the small pipe that brings the oil from the PCV valve to the turbo) and I saw a little oil in this small pipe (see photo 4).
there is also no oil in the pipe that comes out of the turbo (confirmed by the garage).
the engine runs very well, no hesitation, no misfires. no at the PCV valve.
I did also the oil cap test, there is suction but not enough to prevent the cap from being lifted.
what really questions me is the presence of oil at both ends of the lower intake manifold (see photo #5) and every time i clean it, this trace of oil comes back. it seems like there is too much pressure in the lower intake manifold. Note (in my case, the lower intake manifold (black plastic) is located between the manifold (in aluminium) and the engine)
