Default My 2006 Audi A8 Rear Left taillight issue

I have a 2006 A8L that has a left tail light issue, the rear trunk par light stopped working but the reverse light is working fine, then a few days later also the corner left park light stopped working but if i press the breaks the break light works fine. Also when I turn the car off and the fog lights in the front turn on and also the rear lights turn on until after I lock the car, the left corner light dont work until i press the lock button on the remote they light up (which is the park lights) but when I turn the headlights on or I put lights on auto the left light will not turn on at all only when I turn off the car the left tail light turns on until car is locked...

I was not sure what to do so I took the car to my local Audi mechanic shop and was told that both corner and trunk portions of my left tail light were bad and since they do not fix them I needed to get new ones.. So I got new ones and the problem was still there. So I had the Comfort system central control module replaced the one behind the battery and the problem wass still there. So they replaced my head light switch and that didn't do anything. Now im getting frustrated. The mechanic then referred me to someone else that replaced another control module underneath the dash on the driver side near the brake pedal and the issue continued to be there!
I honestly have no idea where to go from here.. I have spent almost 2k on trying to get my left rear park lights to work!
Has anyone ever dealt with a similar issue? Does anyone know what I can do to further investigate and hopefully solve this issue?? please let me know, all feedback would be greatly appreciated...

Thank you all in advance for your help!

I would have suggested the lights themselves since they are known fail points as they age and water enters, but you say you replaced those. Be sure to confirm that.

Unmentioned is simply checking the ground connections. I would review the wiring diagrams for where they are. Absent any other info, check for them anywhere nearby either the tail lights OR any control module.

You never mention a scan. A VCDS scan should see the rear lights IIRC. What does that say?

If any questions about your battery, that is yet another. If more than 4-5 years old, a suspect. When, not if. My rule of thumb is one explainable flat battery (I left something on, too much playing with it for diagnostics with ignition on, etc.) and I charge it up. Second one and especially if unexplained and I replace. Audi electronics do not do well with even marginal batteries.

Thank you for your input @ MP4.2+6.0 I bit the bullet and took it to an electrical specialist and I mentioned to him what you sent me in the above text and that helped him a lot. He found that the circuit board in the light had shorted out and it was a hard to find malfunction, so he repaired it and now the lights are working properly again. Thank you again for the wisdom!!
