Interior rear lift gate light
My wife and I decided to have a picnic from our car in town today. A perfect shade and place to sit and watch the surfers! I was trying to find out if it would be possible to turn off the light that is in the rear liftgate (see photo). I turned off the lights in the center of the car which was easy but was hoping to shut this light off as well. It actually went off eventually after about 3 minutes.

Sorry about the photo being attached incorrectly. The light is in the upper right corner from this view.

Reminds me of a friend's Mercedes. We went out to watch a major meteor shower one night, stayed in the car because it was COLD out, and wanted to just leave some marker lights on outside. Nope, couldn't do it, that Mercedes wouldn't shut the interior cabin light if ANY lights were left on.
I'm a fossil, I don't like lights on "mandatory" automatic timers. I want to know that when I want them off, they will be OFF.
I'm just surprised that an Audi is so technologically primitive, that the liftgate lifts come on during the DAYTIME when it is light out. Surely, this means the automatic light dimming sensor on the liftgate has malfunctioned? (WEG)

I actually noticed that the rear trunk has two other lights iron the right and left side and didn't notice if they were on or off. My assumption us they were on as well.
It is easy to switch the car interior on, off, or auto to doors. The back seat lights (if we have any) I believe are able to be turned on off by the passenger?
The rear trunk seems to not have any options.
