2014 Q5 TDI #2 Glow Plug Broke
I've had a #2 glow plug pressure issue since I had completed the dreaded oil and antifreeze in the valley repair. I think the issue is actually with the connector but replaced the glow plug back in April 2024. The issue continued but would sometimes disappear for a short time. Anyway, I decided to replace the glow plug again.
This time, the plug didn't come out as nicely as the first time. In fact, I was practically crapping myself as I was losening it up. It kept doing that slow - crack - crack - as I was applying decent pressure on the wrench. It was moving and still giving pressure so I knew it hadn't spapped off. Eventually, it did come out...but left the barrel tip (for lack of a better description) in the head.
A friend has a TDI mech who suggested using penetrating oil on it and then try starting it up hoping it will launch it out. I have been soaking it periodically for a few weeks and did attempt said recommendation to no avail. I'll keep on this path but wanted to know if anyone knew if those 'ports' were tapered at the bottom (piston side)?
I'm thinking I might be able to tap it into the chamber and snag it from the fuel injector hole. It appears to be magnetic so that will be helpful.
Thanks for reading and any help in advance. You can see in the pic the missing piece. Those rings are not shaped like a screw, more like rows.
I am thinking of a "dent puller tool" attached to a threaded rod that grabs the tip.

Looking to get a threaded rod small/long enough to reach in and still have some leverage. And some new Liquid Wrench as mine appears to have not appreciated the cold and leaked all over. What a smell.
Nope. Successive attempts never got the same purchase to keep the hole clogged.
I tried again today with new screws and some gentle tapping to try and dislodge it. After some fiddling with the new screws, I tried the original one again after filing some 'threads'. Again, it popped out but with the tip, this time.
