CZ: Webasto - i dont understand
Hello, I would like to ask you how the independent heating (webasto) works. I bought new batteries for the controller that are supposed to be in there and still the controller doesn't work, no led blinks nothing, like it's dead for some reason. I wanted to turn on the heating directly in the car in the MMI, but I can turn it on in the car until the next day (I can't set today's date - I don't understand it, can you give me some advice? Is there a guide? Thank you for your answer

Aux heater is not available on USA cars so I don’t know specifically. But here is the workshop manual for it which should be more than enough for you to be able to figure it out.

Nope. They don’t meet US emissions regs. Too much NOx. Europe is (was) much more lax on that as they were focused on carbon emissions rather than NOx, and is why diesels became so popular compared to the US.
US market cars tend to have remote engine start instead as that of course uses the engines’ exhaust emissions gear.
Unfortunately remote start was not a factory option for Audi’s, or any Euro cars for that matter, as that function doesn’t meet euro carbon emissions regs. So up until the most current models, (2024+ Audi’s) they never bothered designing it. Which is annoying as virtually all US made cars have had remote start as standard for decades.
Only options for the D3 A8 in the US are to retrofit the Webasto with parts bought from Europe, install an aftermarket electric engine block heater, or a hack job remote start kit.
