2013 q7. Boot is closing, actuator is moving as if locking the book.
However there is no lock Click.
Boit lights are on. Go off for split second when actuator is moving closed. Then come back on.
Boot is showing open on dashboard and alarm goes off because boot is open so unable to lock it.
I bought one from Aliexpress. I kept getting a warning on the dash that said open when it was closed. You can see what I paid for it in the screenshot. Best money spent. Do you think it’s the actuator that needs replacing? It seems to me moving freely
When it closes, the actuator pulls the door in tight. mine move freely but I think it had a stripped plastic gear resulting in a machine gun sound occasionally. It did not always do it. Had so many issues with the door that I tried avoiding opening it Once I replaced the part, I never had any issues with the door.
If the gate latch (in the gate itself) latches onto the motorized closure mechanism and you see the hatch moving inwards, but then it literally 'pops' back out again, then that's the stripped gear inside the motorized latchplate issue.
If your liftgate doesn't seem to want to engage the motorized latch, or bottoms out but then bounces back up off it, then you should lube up that latch at the base of the liftgate, etc.
