Hard start parasite continues......
Hello all, I just replaced the LPFP (G6) on my Q7 as a VW tech friend of mine had diagnosed it saying the pump was not holding pressure causing a hard start. Replacement did nothing. The car runs and drives perfect after startup, and there are no faults. The pump runs to spec while the ignition is on, and continues to run after shutoff. My fuel rail pressure reaches around 1800psi after 10 min after shutoff, then eventually goes back down to residual pressure of 70psi. I’m lost at this point since all the components in the fuel tank have been replaced, the HPFP has been replaced, and I verified the injectors were not leaking as the cylinder was not wet or misfiring. The only conflict I know of, is the previous owner (family member) told me the hard starting occurred after the HPFP was replaced. The funny thing is, is that the HPFP is producing its specified pressure, and the N276 metering valve is working with no faults either. This whole fiasco is starting to **** me off!

FYI, this would be a lot easier to track with if you didn't start over again with creating a brand new thread, but rather just continued on an existing one and delete this one, IMHO. If you just were wanting to vent, then this is fine, I suppose, but it lacks basic data necessary to actually render assistance or informed opinions, or even to perform a search for related hard-start issues resolved.
