Evaporator drain plugged and alarm horn doesn't sound

Posted this a couple a days ago and checked the forum but I still can't find the drain. I looked under the car and couldn't find it. Then I tried getting at it by attempting to remove the glovebox but lost my 10 mm socket in there somewhere. It's real cramped there. Where is it and has anyone fixed this?. I think it's different between 96 and 97+. Any suggestions? Also the horn in the trunk doesn't sound now when I lock the car. What is that about? TIA.

if you're talking about the sunroof drain, there's a good write-up. For the lock;

You may need to recode the softecode with VAG-Com under instruments.

I believe the evaporator drain exits under the car, above the exhaust pipe on the passenger side

The Alarm 'brain' is in the trunk, passenger side in the space behind the rear wheel.

You'll need to remove the carpet on the side of the trunk and you'll see the unit at the bottom.
