Default Debadged question: Should I repaint trunk......

when i bought the car, it had been debadged. However, the debadging took some paint with it leaving an impression of the old badges. I love the look and don't want to put badges back on. So, should i spend the money to repaint the trunk, or is there another less expensive option? Anyone else have this problem?

Also, about how much does it cost just to repaint the trunk? TIA.

Default Not sure....

I've only had the car for about 4 months now and I don't know how long they were off before that.

You can only see the outline when you are within about 15 feet, but it bugs the hell out of me. I really like that extra clean look that most of the debaged A4's have.

Default Stupid question - but are you sure the paint has been pulled off or

could you be seeing the outline of the badges due to glue residue that maybe has pickup dirt, etc over time. Try to clean with Goof-Off / /WD-40 (then rewax the area).
I would think that it would take alot to remove the paint

Default I thought it was left over residue at first.....

but after close inspection, it is most definatley the paint that has come off. The first thing I did when I got the car was some Goof-Off and a very good cleaning along with a wax. Then recentley I cleaned the whole car with a clay bar which should have picked up any left over residue, stripping the car to the clear coat. Even after that, still the outline remains.

You can see and feel that it is chipped out, as opposed to feeling raised up.

Default hot glue =P

maybe a paint repair wax (claims to reduce swirls and such) might even out your dip

Default Wow - thats harsh, sounds like you did the best you could do and will have to get

agressive to fix it.
Might want to try various detailing compounds, power buffer...or take it somewhere.
Maybe a paint fill product (I used once once but did not have great results - probably due to my technique).
Last step would obviously be a repaint, but I would exhaust the least agressive options first.
