Overheating problem, any suggestions?
On my way home from work today i noticed that by engine temp was hotter than normal. Say 105°C vs the normal 90°C (190F vs 220°F) When i got home I opened the hood and saw that my coolant resivor was really full. I opened it slightly and i could hear a bunch of fluid leak out, but not from the resivor, which was followed by lots of steam. Does this sound like a clogged line? Anyother suggestions? Oh yeah, its on a 96 A4 2.8QM with about 140K miles or 220k km.
Also, should it be ok to drive to the garage in the morning, about 20 minutes drive or 8-10miles. In the morning its about 40-45°F here.

on my 96 it was the rad
I was getting overheating both oil and coolant, also a small leak on the rad along one edge. replaced it and flushed the system, works fine now. make sure they drain the block if you get someone to change it, i had a lot of crud flow out when i did it. my mileage was around the same as yours (now at 262000km) hope this helps
