Question about brake pads for '01 A4
I searched the forums, but didn't find any great info. I need some new pads for my '01 A4 quattro. Stock size rotors. There's new pads on there, but they are crap and don't stop even close to as good as stock. Any suggestions? I looked on TireRack and found these...
Akebono Euro Ceramic Pads
Hawk Performance Ceramic Pads
and also the Mintex Redbox
and EBC green pads
what should I get? Not super aggresive driving, just want quality brakes that will do atleast as good as stock.

check out purems.com for good prices/writeups on pads...
personally i've liked the ebc redstuff... the green stuffs were the demise of my last car. Oh k not specifically.. but if i had a pad with better initial bite i might have been able to stop.
I'm currently running mintex redbox on the rear of my car. umm i don't like them. I've been bored and in the rain so i'll go to an open parking lot (late at night) and slide around... the red box fade fairly quickly and don't really bite well...
I'd honestly recommend OEM pads... they are pretty damn good. Do you know what the car currently has on it?
Since i've gone BBK... I lub my boxter calipers... if you want to increase your braking ability.. switch up to SS lines.. it's a cheap upgrade that will allow for more braking.
