Ok..after tearing through my stock P6000s I need new tires..(kumho vs. sumitomo)
And I am going to need some new tires..
I liked the dry grip on them..but they were kinda hydroplane happy when it came to standing water...
I am leaning towards the kumho ecsta 712 or the sumitomo hrtz II. Which is a better tire..I am more concerned with performance then anything else..
Wet performance is also a very big deal for me..
as I want to truly put the Quattro to use :-P
I like the s03..but they are kind of high..especially considering I am trying to buy my coilovers.. :-(
So which would you recommend kumho or sumitomo..or any other tire in that price range..
I don't need an all season as they will not see snow.
The problem with most low-end summer tires is that while they're pretty good in the dry, they're not so good in the wet, but I'm sure they're no worse than the stock P6000s.
In addition to the two tires I mentioned in the subject line, there's also a new Kumho Ecsta MX coming out, which has a very similar thread pattern to S-03, and hence leads me to believe that it may be pretty good in the wet. However, I'm pretty sure it will be more expensive than 712.
