19 x 8 wheel with 38sm offset fit on 99 a4 or wrong offset?

I wouldn't think that you would have to worry about rubbing the fender with that
setup... Most aftermarket wheels for A4s have an ET of 35, which would in theory stick out FURTHER than an ET 38 wheel, so at 8"s wide those should tuck up inside better than an 8" wide ET35 wheel would. Like maracuja said, a lot of what causes rubbing is based on the ride height of your vehicle, and also on the dimensions of the tire you put on there. But my guess would be that you would be just fine with this wheel. Keep in mind the possibility of it rubbing on suspension components on the INSIDE of the wheel, too. If it makes you feel any better, the next set of wheels I buy I will likely be ordering as an 18x8" wheel with an ET of 38 instead of the standard 35.
