Need some new tires.....all-seasons or winter tire suggestions needed....
Damn potholes....me & several others hit a crater this morning.
Took out two of my tires.....bent radials. : (
I want to replace them with tires that are QUIET, perform well in snow/rain and also dry pavement. The tires will be used during the winter months, as I have summer tires going on this April : )
Here's what I've come up with:
Continential CH95 All-seasons
(what I currently have)
Toyo Proxes 4 (local shop has a deal on these, archives leave me wondering if these are loud)
Bridestone Blizzacks LM22
Michelin Pilot A/S (poor snow traction?)
Can anyone tell me if they have any of these tires on their S4 and what they think of them?
Again, I want a QUIET tire.

I'm running LM-22s (not on a S4) 225/45/17's
Nice tire - but I really want a tire that has more ice traction than these. They really are a performance tire for the snow. I don't need performance in the winter and prefer something that will help in those extreme days
You may have trouble getting the tire you want this time of the year. BTW at the Audi Ice school - there were several cars with all seasons and they were doing pretty bad on the track - but it could have been the driving ability of the people who had them on.

If you search wheel/tire for nokian wr, you should find lots of great info. Sounds like you're between a dedicated winter tire and an all season, so the WR IMO fits PERFECT into what you're looking for.

Ditto on the V-rated Nokian WRs. I picked up a set as winter tires for my S4 and was very pleased with them. They are very good performance winter tires and handle much better than the Bridgestone MZ-01s (on my previous A4) on the dry and wet. Since most of my winter driving is wet and dry, with the occassional winter storm or trip to the mountain, I wanted a tire that performed excellent during 95% of my driving and competently during the remaining 5% (ice/snow). The WRs deliver that goal.
If you're looking for the best adverse weather tires, the WRs aren't it.
