staggerd setup with quattro? 18 x 8.5 fronts, 18 x 9.5 rears

was thinking stretching rear tires to make equal contact patches... tia

Why? No need for staggered on AWD

Plus, it doesn't allow you to rotate tires, unless you dismount/re-mount/balance.

If you're doing it for the look, I can't help you there.

You might wish to check the archives, becasue this issue has arisen before and been thoroughly thrashed - but my response in a nutshell is: Audi's are engineered to understeer - even with all-wheel-drive. A staggered set-up will only intensify that characteristic. A staggared set-up is really an engineering shortcut to reduce the risk of snap-oversteer on short wheelbase "hot rods" - which is why you see them on Porsches, BMW Z3's and Z4's and M3 Coupes, etc.

It may look cool - but not to the cognescenti - its a little like fake strakes on a hood or side panels (aka Mustangs) - no air is actually inducted
