All-seasons needed for my truck. Narrowed it down to these two...

Toyo Proxes S/T

Which of these two would fair better through winters in Chicago and through light snow? I know some of you are going to say "why not go with a winter tire?" and I've definitely considered that, but the fact that 295/40/20 Scorpion Ice & Snows are now sold out for the season made my decision to go with all-seasons (and be done with it) for all-year use much easier. Besides, it really doesn't snow much in Chicago and when it does, the roads are well-maintained by traffic and snow plows+salt trucks.
I've read mixed reviews with the Proxes S/T especially with regards to driving in the snow but most of the reviews of the Scorpion Zero Asimetricos seem positive. I am fully aware that both tires are a compromise when it comes to winter driving so I just want to cut my losses by going with which would fair better in such less-than-ideal conditions. Oh and I may have to drive with these to upstate NY (where it can snow a lot) and back for the holidays.
Thanks!
Also, I noticed that the Scorpion Zeros 295/40/20 are also "Mercedes OEM" tires but virtually every single ML63 I've seen and every single ML63 owner I've surveyed on the forums all have the CrossContacts on their cars. This leads me to think that perhaps Mercedes actually thinks the Continentals are the better overall tire for all-year use in the US market.
