Gary, did tirerack ever do a handling comparison between 2 cars, the only
difference being lighter wheels and tires on one?
Really want to know if there is a fundamental difference, esp round a track. Been done for motorcycles, but the sprung to unsprung weight ratio is much smaller there and less unsprung weight will mean much better handling.

Although using the same tire took tire grip out of the equation.

Thanks. I thought the comment that the lighter rims rode worse was strange.
My impression is that a heavy car (sprung weight) with light rims & tires would have the best ride comfort.
Could be a reduced sidewall issue.
