I found this out several years ago when I was trying to convert toe settings from inches (which most people use) to degrees, which is how the Hunter measures toe. That machine is based on certain assumptions that are built into the program. E.g., it may assume a narrow, tall tire even if you are running a low profile tire. You have to use a conversion table/program to get it right for your particular tire/wheel. Most shop guys are not even aware of this but I confirmed it w/ Hunter.
My suspicion is that, likewise, it makes an assumption as to wheel/tire weight.
