DEDICATED TRACK DAY TIRE FOR TT?

I know the R compounds will be quickest but the Hoosiers e.g. are so expensive and don't last. Looking for 225-45-17. Does anyone have any experience w/ extreme perf. street tires such as Falken 615 vs. lesser R-compounds like Kumho Victoracer? Or the same comparo after, say, 2 track weekends? The Falken is obviously a great autoX tire but I hear not so good on the track. Other possibilities: Kumho MX and ZX, Dunlop Direzza Z1, ? I'll buy $200 tires if they will last and retain perf. Thanks.

Pzeros and PS2s seem to hold up OK

I have older pzeros on a non-audi. After several autoX and a very heavy track weekend, they show minimal wear and no chnking.

Used the Kumho Victoracer a lot on an A4 and loved them....

I have an New unused set I want to get rid of if interested.

I find the Khumo MX decent for the track days. The Dunlop Z1 Star would be a tad stickier though

It has a newer & stickier compound than the Khumo MX. The khumo MX has been around a while. I still have 8 more mx's in the garage for next year. :-)

If you don;t mind the spending more $$ the bridgestone re01r is good also. But the khumo mx is cheap and handles the heat pretty well. They do get loud though. some of the local here use the hankook rs2 on their e-30 bmw's with good results.
