Audi 2015 TDI 85,000 miles needs brakes
No problem apparently with my vehicles brakes. No warning lights. But presuming that brake work would be in order after 85,000 miles I took it to a local shop to avoid the HUGE expense of having the work done at local AUDI dealer.
Surprisingly, I was told that the front brakes were OK, but the rears were shot, and needed pads, disks and sensors.
After searching on his computer, the local dealer informed me that he could find parts nowhere else other than the local dealer.
And the cost for the three items (pads, disks and sensors) would be in the order of $1,000.00
Would anyone have any idea where these parts can be bought at a more reasonable cost?
Thanks, in advance.
You have not posted your year and model, but this is definitely too much for the rear brakes.
I was shopping for parts for my 2015 A8 TDI and can get all 4 corners Audi OEM (or Zimmerman) Rotors and Akebono pads for about $950.

"Audi 2015 TDI 85,000 miles needs brakes"Based on my previous experience - I would not buy aftermarket rotors for the car like A8. It should be only OEM or Zimmerman. And get Akebono pads for reduced dust.
Here is the links for rotors.

So I thank you and all those that responded.
Just to conclude the matter, I had spoken to my local mechanic who then took it upon himself to order the rotors and pads from audi. (Thee is more to this, but no need to get into it here). When I called him on it, he told me that there would be a 20% restocking fee if he were to return them.
The rear brakes were totally shot, and I needed the car for a road trip in a couple days, so I had him put them on.
It came to about $800.00 and change. I'm not too put out, since I needed to have the matter addressed immediately, and this, while expensive, was a prompt solution.
There is lots of great info in these posts for future readers, and it was well worth while in that regard also, and thanks again to all that responded.

Yes, it's been a long time ago and I'm not sure if these links are still valid.
I'd recommend you to buy only OEM rotors from websites like :

https://www.germanautoparts.com/
Make sure you get the correct rotor's size.
Good luck.
