So my 2011 a3 tdi started having issues after a tunezilla tune for dpf and egr delete.
may first it was just when in cruise control, glow plug light would pop on and the car would lose power. But recently it happens more often and not only when in cruise. The shop that did the tune said that it’s a turbo waste gate issue, but I’m hoping it’s something else.
any help would be great.

I’ve had the same issue but only on long road trips. It’ll happen after ~2.5h of interstate cruising. If I gently press the accelerator every few seconds while on the interstate in cruise control it also doesn’t happen. When I’m driving around town in mixed highway/street driving it doesn’t happen.
When it does it’s: blinking glow plug light, decreased power/limp mode, but reset immediately with a quick engine off and restart. After that it can be as often as every 30min or closer to another 1.5-2h before it happens again.
On those long road trips I’ve gotten to where I just wait for clear lanes ahead and behind, shift into neutral, turn the engine off, restart, and shift back into drive right there on the interstate. Then it’s reset for another hour plus.
I’m taking it in to my indy shop soon for pads/rotors/ brake fluid and will have them see what comes up on their code reader then.
