Default RNS E Issue-

The trouble is that the icon ends up about 500 yards behind me. I eventually take a turn and it reads me as being off the road, at which point it resets and will generally put me back on track... but only momentarily. I've done some searches that guided me to the engineering screen. On the highway traveling 70mph, it reads me as traveling 35mph. This all started happening suddenly. I have never had an issue. Most posts suggest that this will self correct. It has been about 3 weeks and several 50+ mile trips and no such correction. Any advice would be appreciated

Default New tires?

If the coding hasn't changed and you can see the speed from the cluster in Engineering Mode, there is not much else that would cause this.

Default This is simple...

Either the speed signal on the cluster end is bad or the rnse end is bad. Recrimp the taps at each end and you will be back in business. The lag comes from the unit only using the satellite signals which on the RNSE has too much latancy.

I have seen this before.

Default Speed signal at back of cluster is not the culprit (re tapped this AM)...

Rear of the RNS-E to be checked tomorrow.

Default you have two sources for speed signal in your C5....

behind cluster - blue connector:
pin 31 and pin 3 are your options.
(FYI - pin #31 MUST be used when you have a 2002+ allroad...as pin#3 is tied into the height leveling system..and there have been reports of other who have "overloaded" pin#3 and it led to some malfunctions in the height system etc).

Good luck!
