After much anticipation the Achtuning Oil Cooler Group Buy is ready to accept orders! I've spoken to Josh at great length, and he has assured me that all the components are ready for shipment, and that no one will be charged until their kit ships.
This kit features:
- A high-quality Setrab oil cooler core, properly sized for the 2.7t
- 190F thermostat (perfect to ensure that the oil gets up to operating temp & has time to burn off moisture)
- Stainless steel hoses 10AN size, precut and assembled, with protective cover around the core support area (where it passes through to the adapter)
- Oil filter sandwich adapter is ported for better flow
- Will also include a very small bracket to hold it against the bottom of the AC Condenser
- This kit will fit B5 S4�s and 2.8 v6 models. A6 and B5 1.8t versions will be ready soon.
Josh has been running this kit on an Achtuning B5 S4 for several months with excellent results. At a recent S4 Challenge oil temps failed to breach 225f, despite 116f ambient temps! In normal driving oil temps stay around 200f, perfect to ensure happy turbos and and dry oil. (In case you didn�'t know, burning the moisture out of motor oil is critical to ensure that the oil performs its lubricating duties. This moisture is the result of cold starts and is completely normal.)
